Nichols Center Community

GARDENS

The Blessing Garden, Remembrance Garden, Memorial Garden, and Community Vegetable Garden all serve as therapeutic spaces for our wellness and recovery community and families at the Nichols Center. Our goal is to educate our families on the healing benefits of gardening and the organic process while providing a focus for healing.

GARDEN CLUB

Our Garden Club works together to create and upkeep the gardens around the center. Join us on the last Saturday of the month for a work day in the gardens.

In 2022, Nichols Center is offering an engineering internship to Douglas County STEM students to engineer our raised community gardens.

Brighten Academy Charter Middle School students are working on a special project to reduce food waste and learn about composting. Nichols Center volunteers are working to educate youth in our community on the importance of environmental awareness and the therapeutic processes of gardening for wellness and recovery.
