Growing through Partnerships! Douglas CSB

New Intensive Case Management Program: As we rolled into the New Year, we began preparation for our new partnership with the Douglas County Community Services Board (CSB). This partnership is a case management program helping serve the community with resources for mental health at no cost. Nichols Center hired and completed onboarding training for 4 case managers and office staff the beginning of January 2023. These ladies are excited to be here and hoping to make a difference throughout Douglas and neighboring counties.

Youth Innovation Center: On January 6, 2023, Nichols Center attended the CSB’s ribbon cutting event that took place in Lithia Springs at the Youth Innovation Center. The Youth Innovation Center is open to all youth with emotional disturbances from the ages 13-25 years old that attend Douglas County schools to receive individual therapy, psychiatric services and groups. Some of the key takeaways for these children participating in these free groups are coping skills, self-regulation and life skills. The Innovation Center also offers a computer lab for free tutoring, café area and gaming room. Our case managers will have access to the Youth Innovation Center helping families through the case management program.

While our case managers are busy in the field meeting with families, we have a lot planned this year at the Nichols Center. Our admin and management supervisor hires are busy behind the scenes pushing marketing and establishing new programs throughout the week. We are also excited to expand our drug disposal program with additional sites this year along with our upcoming Annual Gala in February.
